Following the existing main axes of a house in the south of Saltillo, the kitchen, laundry and the utility room areas were reorganized and expanded. An existing green wall was extended and will accommodate a large elongated table. The passage to the new laundry room was placed perpendicularly to the main space, while the old laundry room was converted into a large storage. The service areas that occupy the main façade are concealed by new tall windows  that illuminate without revealing their utilitarian character and pairs with new lighting in recessed niches. 

The character of the city is reflected with the brick “cuachota”, used in the niches and in the rainwater drainage system which is inspired by the old drainpipes of the area. 

On the interior, the main window was emphasized by placing modern bay window to the south, while the Spanish tile was replaced by a flat roof of joist and vault for cleanliness in the construction. The exposed wood on the interior of the slab fits in with the rest of the house.
