Adaptive reuse project for an old colonial house in the historic downtown of Saltillo. The original architecture was maintained and enhanced through a modern but referential color palette and the use of traditional regional materials such as adobe and pasta tiles. In the patio, we propose a permeable "rug" made out of paving stones in a sarape layout that references the local culture, interlaced with openings for desert vegetation to create shade and passive cooling.
