HOUSE IN THE VALLEY OF THE REMEDIES

The country house is located in the Trincheras mountains of Coahuila. The social areas take the shape of an “L” surrounded by a shaded porch that serves as the heart of the house most of the year complementing the indoor areas and simultaneously frames the views and protects it from the sun. It also holds a grill, breakfast bar, a gaming table and an outdoor lounge. The kitchen has a large concrete island which accommodates six people when the house is fullest.  

A slim strip of windows above the porch at the interior height of 3.40 meters to the slab ensures that the space is bright and light at all hours of the day.

The bedrooms are accessed through the sides of a fireplace with local gray flagstone, the focal point of the living room and dining room. The three bedrooms have various sizes and accommodations that addresses different users and guests.

The windows and doors open to allow the prevailing winds of the region to pass through, which, together with the foamular insulation, provide thermal comfort in these lands of extreme temperatures.
